The JECI-MIEC European Committee 2014 took place at Home St. Luc at Bettembourg, Luxembourg, from the 15th to the 21st of September.
The Committee takes place every year, usually on September. It is the supreme and decision making body of the European Coordination JECI-MIEC and gathers representatives of national movements, as well as observes and guests. The European Committee decides about the jeci-miec future actions, work plan, budget, international connections and the European Team ( Coordinator, Executive Board and Chaplain).
This year 13 National Organisation’s represantatives were present, from which 11 with voting rights and representatives from the European Youth Forum, the Secretary General and the Program Coordinator of International Young Catholic Students(IYCS) and the Secretary General of the International Movemet of Catholic Students(IMCS).
The first days we had the presentations of the National Organisations, which were present, the annual narrative and the financial report of the European Team 2014, the reports of IYCS, IMCS, ICMICA/MIIC Pax Romana and EuropeanYouth Forum.
During the week, the work plan for 2014/2015 was adopted and the activities to be planned are the following:
- 23/02-01/03, Study Session, EYC Budapest
- 10-25 July, World Council of IYCS
- September 2015, European Committee, Rome, Italy
- February/March 2016, Winterweek, Austria
- August/September 2015, European Congress
The last official day of the Committee was the presentation of the candidates and the election of the European Team 2015. The Committee elected as Coordinator Simon Fischer (AKH Germany) and as Executive Board members Romana Mysula (AUCS OBNOVA Ukraine), Mihaela-Maria Sopon(ASTRU CLUJ Romania), Clement Maury(JEC France) and Jacques Neyens(JEC Luxembourg).
