The European Committee 2025 – Madrid, 2–5 October

In October 2025, delegates from the JECI-MIEC movements gathered in Madrid for the annual European Committee meeting, kindly hosted by JEC Spain.

Although brief, the event was highly productive. Our main objectives were to draft and adopt the Orientation Guidelines for 2025–2028, elect the new European Team, review upcoming projects and activities planned for the organization, and reflect on those carried out in 2024. We also addressed budget planning for 2026 and agreed upon a Code of Conduct establishing the fundamental principles we commit to uphold as a Catholic and inclusive organization.

On Sunday, Hannah Plückhahn from BKKH Germany was unanimously elected European Coordinator. We are confident her leadership will be successful and valuable to the organization.

Additionally, three members were elected to form the new European Board starting 1 January 2026: Alessandra Tiberi (FUCI Italy), Noah Albert (BKKH Germany), and Jan Krawczyk (KIK Poland). They will assume key positions within the European Team.

The Committee serves multiple purposes beyond formal organizational matters. It fosters better understanding among members, encourages the sharing of experiences and ideas, and celebrates the diversity of our cultural backgrounds. On the first evening, we enjoyed an intercultural event exchanging insights about our homelands. Shared meals further strengthened connections and built lasting bonds.

A highlight of our time together was a Mass celebrated by Jorge, a priest from the HOAC? movement. His spiritual guidance reminded us that faith is not merely given, but something we must actively seek and nurture. He also blessed the newly elected Board, for which we are deeply grateful.

We extend sincere thanks to JEC Spain for their warm hospitality and excellent care of all delegates. We look forward to a fruitful year ahead for JECI-MIEC and the exciting activities planned for 2026!
